Kuraray America, Inc. announced today a donation of $1,000 to assist in Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts through the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of New York City. The Chamber contributed $250,000 to the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City as well as an additional $250,000 to AmeriCares in order to provide support for the New Jersey and Long Island areas that have been affected.

Kuraray America, Inc. employs approximately 20 people in their Manhattan office, with many employees affected directly by the impact of Hurricane Sandy.

George Avdey, President and CEO of Kuraray America, Inc. said on the tragedy, “”As those affected by Sandy continue to rebuild, Kuraray Americas, along side the Japanese Chamber of Congress, want to support organizations that will make a difference in the lives of those effected. With this donation, we hope to support the rebuilding efforts of not only the community but also our co-workers, customers and suppliers.”
