Qualified and talented employees are essential to a company’s success. Every year companies are striving to keep these employees through innovative human resources practices. Those companies that do it the best have been named a National Best and Brightest Companies to Work For winner for 2013. This year, among 100 others, Kuraray America, Inc. was honored for the first time.

The winning companies were assessed by an independent research firm, which reviewed a number of key measures relative to other nationally recognized winners. They include Compensation, Benefits and Employee Solutions; Employee Enrichment, Engagement and Retention; Employee Education and Development; Recruitment, Selection and Orientation; Employee Achievement and Recognition; Communication and Shared Vision; Diversity and Inclusion; Work-Life Balance; Community Initiatives; Strategic Company Performance.

With more than 10 years of experience conducting Best and Brightest Company competitions, the National Association for Business Resources (NABR) has identified numerous best HR practices and provided benchmarking for companies that continue to be leaders in employment standards.

“Nationally recognized award recipients keep innovative human resource initiatives at the forefront of their company culture and make it a priority to consider their workforce as an essential aspect in their company success,” said Jennifer Kluge, National Association for Business Resources President, which presents the program. “Our list of nationally recognized companies has grown significantly this year. We are proud to recognize and honor these winning companies.”

Of recent, Kuraray has been growing rapidly, both in headcount as well as their portfolio. In 2012, Kuraray purchased Monosol and shortly after announced the groundbreaking of a Kuraray Poval (polyvinyl alcohol) plant in Houston, Texas. This new plant will bring over 100 jobs to the Houston area and was awarded the Texas Enterprise Fund through the Governor of Texas’s office.
