KURARAY AMERICA, INC. STATEMENT ON HURRICANE FLORENCE IMPACT

HOUSTON, TX – Officials with Kuraray America, Inc. (KAI) have confirmed that there have been no incidents, injuries, or major damage to Kuraray’s facility in Fayetteville, North Carolina at this time. Additionally, there were no incidents, injuries or damage to the Fort Mill, South Carolina facility. The company has accounted for all employees in both locations. The Fort Mill facility has resumed operations and the Fayetteville facility is working to resume operations.

“Kuraray is thankful for all of the emergency and rescue workers who’ve guided us through this storm,” said Hitoshi Toyoura, president and CEO of Kuraray America, Inc. “The safety of our communities, our employees and the environment were our top priorities. We will continue to assist all Carolinians and our employees with their recovery efforts.”

In addition, Kuraray stated it will utilize best efforts to meet customer demands during this time.
