Plantic Technologies is proud to announce they have won several major awards at this year’s WorldStar Packaging Awards (www.worldstar.org).

The WorldStar Packaging Awards Competition is one of the major events of the World Packaging Organization and is the pre-eminent international award in packaging.  WorldStar recognizes the continual advancement of the state of packaging design and technology and creates a living standard of international packaging excellence from which others may learn.

A first for an Australian company, Plantic has been honored with a bronze medal in the President’s Award category, the highest category in the awards class. Plantic, together with their New Zealand customer Neat Meats, submitted for selection their PLANTIC™ RV material; the base web used in skin packing for fresh meat products.

PLANTIC™ RV was also recognized in the food category for its barrier performance, use of recycled materials and the ability for the pack to be recycled. 

 

Also recognized in the Packaging Materials Section, the South Korean company Softpack was recognized for their use of PLANTIC® HP as a gas barrier layer in their COFFILM products; the worlds’ first high barrier biodegradable coffee pouch.
